The body is an amazing machine. to be honest, there are surprisingly very few significant injuries that occur with Breakin’ aka “Breakdancing”. Most of the skepticism comes from the name “Breakdancing” however that is a misconception. This is merely the name of the dance style, because we dance off of the “Break” of the songs. Serious injuries are extremely rare, however with any dance art or sport, small injuries or discomforts will happen. Usually sore muscles or tweaked areas are common, nothing that sore body ointment or stretching wont fix. For beginners, the body may not be used to the new movements that are happening. proper stretching is a priority. Leggs starts each program class with stretch routines and warm ups. Other risk factors may boil down to preexisting conditions and physical limitations for some persons. Students should also stretch at home or when practicing outside of the teaching class. Please see the very bottom of this website for a disclaimer clause and downloadable notice about taking classes at your own risk.
